TELUS’ relocation to an industrial-commercial area posed an exciting challenge for Lemay + Toker’s architecture and landscape teams. They designed an environment celebrating TELUS’ continued commitment to sustainability and culture, with a clever use of materials and built space—inside and out.

The renovation of existing space provides flexibility to Canada’s fastest-growing telecommunications company. Building envelope upgrades, exterior grading and landscaping extend the workplace into an outdoor amenity space to promote balance and wellness. A “solar flower” hybrid power-generator leverages solar and alternative fuels to provide a constant green power source for amenities, including an outdoor bench with built-in charging stations and electric car parking. A dramatic outdoor canopy is home to skilfully arranged solar panels that offer a variety of sheltered and unsheltered spaces for users, while directing their views away from adjacent industrial properties.
